Summer 2010..can't believe it's coming to an end. Daytrips and getting together with friends and a trip to the Poconos it's been a blast.

Avery 9 months and Ryan 3, Going on NonStop!

January....Avery is almost 9 months and is still as happy as can be. She is eating solids now, loving sweet potatoes, Apple Vanilla Grain, and whatever you put in front of her. She is eating puffs now and will drink water out of a sippy cup. As far as mobility, she will get on all fours and do some rocking back and forth , but will fall down to her belly and roll back and forth..Ryan didn't crawl till 10.5 months so she's right along with him.

At her 9 month appt she weighed 19.5 pounds and is in the 75 th percentile for weight and for height. She loves watching Ryan run around her and just smiles at him. I will be planning her 1 year old bday party soon enough..this is nuts!

Ryan is talking non stop..we are def not sick of it like everyone said we would!

Favorite sayings...

Geico--eyes.,.mission accomplished..that's ridiculous...Ryan John FAYrarra...dinosaur...follow me..how bout......be RIIIIIGht back..more in the way he says them. I would say that he def started speaking full words right when he turned 3...then 4-5 word sentences at about 3 years 4 months....He was in the 2 year old class since September and is doing really well. Mrs. Leninger, his teacher, has advised us that she thinks we should put him in the 4 year old class next year which we are. He will go 3 days a week from 9:30 am to 11: 00 am.

Looking forward to summer already...I hate the Winter with kids!

Can't believe how big the kiddies are getting. Ryan is talking now in multiple word utterances..asking for things, and demanding things too. Avery is starting to blow raspberries and can play sit up with assistance on the floor and "play" with toys in front of her. Ryan goes to school twice a week now, still not loving the drop off part but is doing well once he gets in there.

Looked over and saw this one..fast asleep in her jumperoo chair...she bounces so much she tires herself out..

Doc felt something under her gums, but doesn't think any tooth will

sprout just yet..

We're going to do some solids now, and he suggested no more

overnight feedings as she doesn't NEED it..but Mommy and Daddy needs it

cause that is how she goes back to sleep when

she wakes up at 3:30 am..we'll see...

Aunt Elizabeth was in for her Christening so she was there to hold Avery

for a while in the Dr.s office..and Papa stopped in during our appt

too! Doc was about to give

Avery her shots when he walked in

and thought he'd better watch out

that Papa might take him out if he hurt our little girl!

Celebrating our 5th Anniversary Thursday..going to the city. Going out to dinner, then seeing a show called "Rock of Ages" and staying overnight at the Westin. Looking forward to a great time just Steve and I. Mema and Cheech are babysitting...

Here are a few..Avery is trying to roll back to belly but gets stuck half way and goes back. Ryan is doing great potty training, wearing big boy undies during the day finally went for it and took him out to the store without the pull up..no accidents. He is trying to talk so much now..so I can breathe a bit easier.

Was a hot one today, just in time for our central air to crap out..but Stephen got someone in to fix it. Ryan, Aves, and I slept at Mema and Cheech's house last night just in case. Cheech even made Ryan his own "rocket bed" out of foam rubber, fitted with side pieces for the "rails" and a full headboard. Ryan helped him make it with Cheech and all I heard were wows and yays from the basement..he slept like a log in it too!

Atlantis Marine World, Riverhead

Well, another day trip in the books, last one was the Bronx Zoo..and today we went to Atlantis Marine World in Riverhead...we have never been there and it was that much more fun with the kiddies!

As soon as you enter you are greeted with huge Manta Rays that swim right up to you and right out of the tank up on the side..you can feed them these little stringy fish ($2 a dish, rip off) and Ryan and Steve were up for it! I of course had Avery in the Bjorn sling and was the photographer..shocker? I think not..when am I not taking pics...

He fed them ONE PELLET AT A TIMEEEEEEEEEE..and loved every minute of it.

In total we spent close to 38.5 minutes in front of this exhibit..it had the "Nemo" clownfish and Anenomes (sp?) he kept going "MO, MO" for Nemo..and DOORR for Dori..the other character in the movie Looking For Nemo...he also pointed out the fish to the other boys and girls that came along..like he was the tour guide.

(Although I am smiling..I can't believe how much weight I still need to lose, esp looking at THIS PIC!!! I digress.....back to the fish....)

Next trip is the the Long Island Game Farm in Manorville..a place my family supported with many trips when I was a wee lad....if anyone wants to come along let us know and we can plan with you! Its always more fun with the family! (Mom B, I promise we wont make the goats eat out of your hand) Lots of wipes and sanitizers on that trip!

Big Apple Circus/Countdown To the Wedding!

Ryan's first circus..he did great throught the 2 hour show, sat on Gamma's lap and ooohed and ahhed. Big hits were the horsies, trapeze artists, and the choo choo train that came into the ring with the trick puppies in it! Of course Gamma spoiled him with a t-shirt and special BLUE baton..and we all know he loves BLUE! He must have carried the excitement home with him cause he didn't nap all day and was a bit WOUND UP until he finally crashed at 8 pm..phewww...

You think he left his planes home..even for the circus...NOPE!

Less than 20 days till my brother's wedding on July 17th...can't wait to see my little man in a tux and see my brother and sister in law on their very special day! Hoping to lose some more baby weight by then!

Family Weekend

Avery is a month old already! Doing well and growing by the minute..we've been adding another ounce to the bottle and she's now up to 5 oz. Ryan continues to love her, kissin her toes, and leaning his head gently in to her to give her an "awwww". Starting to plan her Christening soon.

The weather beens gorgeous..just today I put Aves in the sling and I was able to have my hands free to push Ryan around in his favorite blue car. Hoping to catch up on my sleep..she's been getting up every 4 hours..so its a LITTLE better..just very different when Ryan was the only one and I could sleep when he slept..not this time!

Aunt Elizabeth is coming to visit this weekend and meet the newest addition! Can't wait!

Here are the latest updates!

Ryan:

Had his latest Speech Evaluation done. Receptively (what he understands) he is on an Age Equivalent of a 3 year 11 month old which is REALLY high...and Expressively (what he can say) is still way below..he has about 4-5 words and he is supposed to have 200+..so there is obviously a big gap, but the SPL still is not concerned and said it will come. Ryan still loves going to school with Daddy on Mondays, this class is now a partial separation..and Ryan does well when Steve leaves, even one of the Moms said, "yeah Ryan doesnt really care when you leave!" but the girls there dont let their moms leave~ little prisses! Ryan has fun with the songs and crafts and now gets a "special" dixie cup TO GO from the teacher filled with extra cheeze its and animal crackers at the end of class. Its so cute to watch him walk in the house with his special cup..he shows me and smiles ear to ear!

Avery:

1 month check up..was 6 lbs 4 oz at her 4 day check up..today weighs 8 lbs 2 oz..got one shot..she was a trooper..she is in the 25th %-ile for height and weight..and the Dr said she might be "petite"...I had to chuckle!

Looking forward for Aunt Elizabeth's visit in the beginning of June! Warmer weather is on it's way yahoooooooooo!

Although I wish she wasn't visiting and staying with us forever! Although she returns to Florida Sunday, we have been spoiled with her coming over everyday and helping keep Ryan busy and letting Mommy and Daddy take their breaks..napping..little projects getting done around the house or just letting me sit for a while.

Aunt Elizabeth comes from NC in the beginning of June, so she gets a little taste of things around here too! Can't wait..

Avery is eating 3 ounces now..up from 1.5-2...waking up about every 4 hours overnight..again she continues to be a really easy going baby and will only fuss when she's hungry..Ryan is being a fantastic big brother and alerts us when she cries or fusses and I love when he wakes up in the morning and looks for her. He loves to gently touch her nose.

Weather is great, kids and hubby are great..family and friends have been amazing. What a support we have in helping us return to "normal" around these neck of the woods. The weather has been amazing staying in the upper 80's and keeping Ryan happy outside with the water "stuff" it really poops him out for his nice long naps.

Avery goes back to Dr tomorrow to check on her weight to make sure she is gaining. She was a bit jaundiced but after her blood work, it came back low, so nothing needs to be done. Ryan is still in love with his little sis. This morning she was lying in bed with me. Ryan automatically looks in her bassinet and when he didn't see her he "grunted" in his way..to say..WHERE THE HELL IS SHE MA? And was happy to find her and smiled.

Week 38...tomorrow its another trip to my Dr for another sono to check the size again but feeling good. Ryan is loving the warmer weather recently and going out and playing with the worms and dirt his new favorite past time..Rangers are up 2-0 against Washington, so Steve is happy and his new job personal training is really going well. Getting excited for John and Danielle's wedding, it's approaching fast (July 17th) and really looking forward to losing the baby weight, great motivating factor, being in the wedding! All great stuff, we are truly blessed. Gpa recently visited us so here are some new pics...yes in the backyard again!

Funday Sunday at Mema and Cheech's house..here are the highlights!

In other family news...

This past Sunday we celebrated Dominic's 1st birthday! He is already walking and he was VERY neat with his cake..it was great! Lauren and Marc had it at their house with lots of yummy food. I was not happy with the fact that I FORGOT MY CAMERA..yes, this mamarazzi..forgot her camera, but I am sure my sister in laws will forward me some pics! He is the cutest little blondie blue eyed kid around! Ryan of course doesn't leave his Gamma alone the whole time and looks for her at all times..leading her around by the hand. He loved playing with the slot machine in the basement..VEGAS BABY!

Well Ryan certainly is aware of when he needs to do his "business" if I walk into his room and he is well..doing business, he usually shakes his head no to me and points me to go back out..today he actually said "go"..what a breakthrough in his speech! I have never been so excited to be told to "go" out of a room! I have been teaching him the sign for "bathroom" and taking him in to the potty and with lots of train stickers later, he is tolerating at least sitting on the potty.

I think I will start the official training after Avery arrives, 1. cause I dont have much patience to be consistent at this point 2. I am not that mobile either to physically do it with him..

That's the "plan" we'll see what happens!

Week 35 Update

Mom met me at my Dr's appt today. I am 35 weeks and very READY! Had an ultrasound and everything looks great. Definitely still a little lady in there, and measuring approx 6 pounds already! Doc said it looks like Avery may be 7.5 to 8 pounds on delivery if I go to 40 weeks..Ryan was 7lbs 8 oz..I just knew she was bigger than Ryan at this week! I def feel it!

I start weekly appts from this point on, joy..but I know the end is near! Or should I say the beginning!?

The Sick House

Well...Mommy and Ryan are both sick..mommy getting better, Ryan just starting his. He is in a good mood for now, and hopefully he will sleep OK tonight. Ryan and I had a sleepover at Mema and Cheech's house. Mema and Cheech took Ryan to TrainLand train store and heard lots of "wows" and of course came back with a Thomas the Train set. Mema made french toast for everyone this morning..yummy!

Ryan is starting to verbalize more on his own..pulling Mema to the front door told her "Car"..and told the cat to "go" when he was in his seat.

Steve started up his personal training business recently and has 4 clients now, he goes to their home. It's great that he can do it during the day when I am home now.

Well Ryan is certainly not sitting still anymore..he always wants to explore and is learning how to crawl on his knees instead of his belly..today he stood up with me holding his arms up and he saw Dada and started to take steps toward him with me keeping him balanced, we were clapping and cheering, and he was smiling so much!

He loves to eat pieces of my bagel, cheese, puffs, and had a little more liking to pastina at Mema's house. He loves to chew on bread and just loves his pureed foods still. Still "gags" on anything too chunky, so feeding him big people foods is still a challenge.

We have an Army Crawler

Ok, so he's def on the move more and more each day...He now learned how to get from a sitting position and onto his belly to get to where he wants to go. On his belly he uses his elbows and legs to push himself forward and pull himself along the floor. Sometimes when he is on his belly he will get up on his knees and rock back and forth, it looks like he's starting up to crawl, but then he just goes back down on his belly! I can't believe I started looking at safety gates already and will have to get the outlet covers SOON! All the cords are away finally and its just happening so fast. I remember trying to teach him how to roll over from one side to the other.

Other tricks..he "dances" from side to side, something he taught himself when he hears music from his toys. When he's tired and we are on the floor with him, he drops his head and tries to climb up/pull up on us for us to pick him up. He loves when we stack up the blocks and he knocks them over! Peek a boo is always a favorite, when we put the cloth over his face, he pulls it off and he just smiles!

Finally trying to eat more table foods...we give him little pieces of cheese, and he likes the Gerber puffs. His fav food is pears mixed with oatmeal though! I snuck in some peas with his applesauce ( I know mean) but doc said green foods will help him in the 'digestive' areas..we wont get into that here.

Still have a great schedule:

In the Am wakes up at 7, Daddy gets him, feeds him changes him plays with him until he leaves for work at 8, mommy gets up at 8...we play until 9:30 then he naps till about 10:30-11, then we play, eat, go for walks, and then by 4 he will take another nap until 5ish..dinner play bath then he falls asleep by 8..then I feed him his last bottle by 10 pm and he sleeps through the night unitl 7 am and we do it all over again!

Ryan finally learned to army crawl over the Dada's keys. He is trying to perfect the going from the sitting up position to get onto his hands. His chunky leg gets caught up and he ends up falling over onto his chest. He is battling a bad cold but his grandparents keep showering him with gifts everyday it seems, can you say SPOILED??? We are very lucky to have our parents nearby.

Can't believe he is turning 9 months tomorrow...but hey..

Well I finally learned how hold my bottle on my own now. I can lay on the floor in the morning and mommy or daddy gives me my bottle and I can hold it up and drink from it.

No teeth, no crawling yet. I like to scream now though, short loud ones resembling a bird actually.

I sleep great now, and no longer need my 10 pm bottle. I fall asleep usually by 7:30 and I go right up to my crib until 7 am. I love when they come in the morning to get me, I smile from ear to ear!

Ryan is really starting to get going..no crawling yet, but he def gets to where he wants by rolling over and over. Starting to play more independently, and he sits us real well now. We put the basket of toys in front of him, and he squeals and takes the toys out and usually throws them around. He usually poops himself out, hence the last shot..sleeping babies are the bestest!

We finally had the chance to get down to NC to visit Great Aunt Elizabeth and Great Grand Nana! We had a great time, especially in the aquarium! We hope to get back there soon!

Today we went to Aunt Lauren and Uncle Marc's house..we hung out outside, BBQ'd, and played with Ryan in the grass..the boys went to Sports Authority to get a football and got some exercise running around in the HUGE backyard they have....Aunt Lauren always knows how to rock Ryan to sleep..she can do it everytime!

Time to baby proof..Ryan is scooting all around the floor..you leave him in one spot and he "scoots" around to find his toys..I guess he'll be crawling soon

He also loves playing with Daddy!
